Solid European UGC platform with a powerful open source engine, benevolent ownership, fun games, hundreds of thousands of users, a long tradition and fair moderation. Unplayable for many people including me after the non-refusable introduction of Pauly in early 2026.

I’ve been around Polytoria for a pretty long time now, and I honestly miss how it used to feel.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think it’s a bad platform. I actually want it to succeed. More competition is good for everyone, especially in the sandbox space.

I think what changed for me was the atmosphere.

Back when Polytoria started getting a ton of attention earlier this year, it felt like there was excitement everywhere. The developers were constantly talking with the community, people were throwing around ideas, and it genuinely felt like everyone was building the platform together.

Now it feels like none of that even happened or matters.

Maybe it’s just because the platform has grown, but it doesn’t feel as community-driven as it used to. I still see updates, but I don’t get the same feeling that players are part of the conversation anymore.

The avatar change is probably the biggest example for me.

I completely understand why they had to do it. From what we know, Roblox’s legal actions left them with very little choice. I don’t blame the developers for making that decision.

I just liked the old avatars more.

The new ones aren’t terrible, but they don’t have the same personality in my opinion.

My biggest issue, though, is that the momentum feels different.

When Polytoria blew up, it felt like the start of something huge. I remember thinking, “This could actually become a serious player in the sandbox space.”

Since then, that excitement has kind of faded for me. The platform is still improving, just not at the pace I was hoping for.

I still respect the developers because it’s obvious they care about what they’re making. I know running a platform like this isn’t easy, especially when you’re dealing with legal issues and trying to grow a community at the same time.

I just hope they can bring back some of that energy that made so many people excited in the first place.

I still check in every now and then, and I genuinely hope they prove me wrong.

The entire concept of Polytoria is a joke, mocking all of the SBC freedom and such, which is NOT fine. But everyone acts like this will be the saving grace of the Roblox community, which I don't really trust.

Either way, it's now impossible to play any games because of connectivity issues. The community has its own toxicity towards new users and such. No wonder people sometimes call it out as /pol/ytoria. Not even talking about Brick Hill Refugees. Furthermore, forums may contain innapropriate content (such as selfharm or suicide threads).

Besides that, I've recently found out that Polytoria's Team lead or its founder Willemsteller has problems paying out money to people (according to retired staff's document which got removed by Polytoria itself).

Is there any point for Polytoria to cover the truth and defend people like vue & Hunger?

This is one of the better sites for sandbox UGC games. It is flawed though. The avatar change sucked pretty bad and the new avatars look very odd. That is personally what drove me away from the platform. The studio also was confusing to me, but I haven't tried it in a while so maybe that is fixed. It is very active though. Its community is a little bit toxic but that is probably from the size of the game. The owner does not seem too competent though.
